Kiln Axial Balancing

Kiln Axial Balancing

Kiln balancing is an optimization of kiln axial load on support rollers. Support rollers are tuned optimally to balance kiln axial load just sufficient so that the kiln remains at a position and kiln float activated upon change in the axial components on the support roller due to various operating parameters. Problems arise during uneven load distribution are as under.

  • Damage thrust roller/thrust collar of support roller
  • Damage of tyre retainers
  • Damaging kiln end seal
  • Wear and tear on support roller and tire surface
  • Pier Vibration
  • Missing kiln float
  • Whistling sound form shaft and bearing
  • Consumption of higher current amperage main drive.

The methodology developed by us consists of technological devices and algorithms/software that makes it easy for higher precision on the axes measurement to conclude existing skew in the roller. Many times we had observed the concluded skew is within 0.2 mm in actual.
